Wine Samplers

Meetings: 1st Friday of the month, academic year, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Exceptions for holidays.
Participation Fee: Each couple or single brings one bottle of the hostess-selected variety of wine plus an appetizer that complements the wine. Cost per couple runs $20 to $25 per month.
Open to new members: While this group has reached our maximum capacity, we would be quite willing to mentor others who wish to begin a Wine Samplers group. Contact a co-chair for information.

The group is composed of both couples and solo members.

Wine Samplers taste and compare a different kind of wine or cider each month. Wines are blind tasted and scored, and then the results are tabulated and revealed. Each member is expected to host once each year. The group has a maximum capacity of around 18 people so all can easily be seated at or near a table in most homes. The hosting member selects the type of wine to be served that month. Hostesses also provide plates, napkins and water. Members bring their own wine glasses to minimize work for the hostess. Members share information about the particular wine they selected, such as ratings by professional tasters, price, country/state of origin, grapes included in production, unique climate or production information about the winery, etc.
