Chicago Bus Trips - Spring

Trips:  One late fall/early winter and a second in the spring if demand is there.
Format:  Transportation to/from Chicago for an adventurous day of your own design. 
Registration fee covers transportation.

Spring Bus Trip 2025

The Spring Education Excursions and the Chicago Spring Bus Trip are combining to share a bus to Chicago!

The two groups will board the bus together at the West Lafayette Meijer and will travel to downtown Chicago. Everyone will enjoy the Century of Progress outdoor 90-minute walking tour on the south lakeshore museum campus featuring the Adler Planetarium, Shedd Aquarium, and the Field Museum, all of which were part of the 1933-1934 Century of Progress World’s Fair.

Around noon, the groups will separate when the Spring Trip participants are dropped off at Rush and Superior Streets for an afternoon on their own. The Ed Excursion participants will proceed to the Chicago History Museum in Lincoln Park for a boxed lunch and time to learn about Chicago’s history in the museum. Additional time may be available to visit Lincoln Park Zoo, the conservatory or the nature museum.

At 4:00, the Educational Excursions group will depart and, after picking up the Chicago Spring Bus Trip participants at Rush/Superior, return to West Lafayette.

The tentative itinerary is as follows:
8:00 AM (EDT) – Depart West Lafayette Meijer, with one bathroom stop
~10:00 AM (CDT) – 90-minute Century of Progress outdoor walking tour
12:00 noon – Drop off Chicago Spring Bus Trip participants at Rush/Superior
12:30 PM – Ed Excursions participants continue to the Chicago History Museum Boxed lunch, self-guided museum tour, possible time to explore Lincoln Park
4:00 PM – Ed Excursions Depart Chicago History Museum
4:30 PM – Pick up Chicago Spring Bus Trip participants at Rush/Superior
7:30 PM (EDT) – Arrive in West Lafayette

Don’t miss out on the 2025 Spring Bus Trip to Chicago!

This trip is open to Purdue Women’s Club members and their guests. 

Depart:  Arrive by 7:45 AM for a 8:00 AM departure from West Lafayette Meijer.   
Leave Chicago at 4:00 PM Chicago Time (CST) 
Return to the parking lot about 7:30 PM (EST) 

Reservations: Advance payment and trip registration are required.  Please make your reservations prior to deadline on registration form.  Please keep in mind that the bus fills up fast and reservations are first come first served.  It will take 35 reservations for this trip to go.  Refunds will be made if there aren’t enough signed up. 

Cost:  Spring Bus Trip (includes bus and morning tour) - $70/member, $75/guest
​Ed Excursion Trip (includes bus, morning tour, lunch, museum admission) - $105/member, $110/guest​​

FAQs 
What is the refund policy? 
If we don’t get 35 signed up the trip will be cancelled.  If the trip is cancelled, you will receive a refund of your payment.  
If you cancel:  Cancellation refunds are given only if we are able to resell your seat before the trip.  We need 35 reservations in order to do this trip. 

What can/can’t I bring to the event? 
Bring what you think you might want/need to be comfortable.  The bus has storage bins above the seats and a large area below the bus to accommodate your purchases, luggage and even coolers.
