PWC Volunteers!
The PWC Volunteers! Group aims to provide members a group experience to serve non-profit organizations in the Greater Lafayette area. We hope to introduce new volunteer opportunities and give members a chance to “lend a hand” for an annual event or simply get involved with something different in the community. Discover the variety of local organizations that count on energetic volunteers like us to make a difference.
Upcoming events/organizations for this year: Joyful Journey Classic, Salvation Army, Junior Achievement, Lions Club Vision Screening, Grant’s House, Lafayette Urban Ministry, Haan Museum, and Tree Lafayette. Your suggestions for future ideas are always welcomed. Volunteer information will be sent via an EMAIL or announced in “News You Can Use” or this PWC Website page. Sometimes sign-ups are on Sign-Up Genius Link. Every member is invited to sign-up to be a volunteer once, twice, or whenever you are available!! When: Thursday, November 21 9:00AM - 11:00AM Where: Food Resource & Education Center located at 1204 Greenbush Street in Lafayette Registration Link: https://vhub.at/PurdueWomensClub Description: November is the month to be thankful... and is a great time to work with Food Finders. We are secured for 10 volunteer spots on Thursday, November 21st from 9:00AM - 11:00AM. The location is at the Food Resource & Education Center located at 1204 Greenbush Street in Lafayette. In order to sign-up, every volunteer will need to register for this shift at the link above at least 1 week prior to November 21st. This is always a well attended, fun, and social volunteer opportunity!! If the volunteer response is greater than 10, then an additional shift for our group will be scheduled. When: Monday, December 9th, 1:00pm - 3:00pm Where: Salvation Army 1110 Union Street, Lafayette Description: We will help the Salvation Army again this December by sorting and packing donated Christmas gifts for local families supported by the "Angel Tree" program. 10+ slots are already reserved for this activity for PWC members. What: Holidays at the Haan Greeters When: Afternoon shifts available December 6-29 Where: The Haan Museum of Indiana Art 920 State Street, Lafayette Description: The Haan Museum is looking for "Greeters" for the Holiday season. Greeters welcome people at the door and check to see if they have pre-purchased tickets. If they don't, then Greeters collect the entrance fee for the holiday tour.
