Into Nature

Walks/Hikes: Hikes are scheduled on the first Monday of each month excepting December. Hikes start at 10:30 a.m. If the first Monday is a holiday, or the hike is rained out, we hike on the subsequent Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
Participation Fee: None, though some park properties we visit have entrance fees.

Into Nature is for anyone with an interest in investigating and expanding their understanding and enjoyment of the natural world. We will take walks in nearby natural areas led by member-guides. Our hikes will include walking trails throughout the county, some Niches properties and nature preserves and state parks. We plan for a variety of mobility levels.

We usually arrange for carpooling if we are traveling outside the city limits of Lafayette and West Lafayette. Our hikes are weather dependent, hence the automatic default to the subsequent Thursday. As a group, we plan in January and an email is sent before each outing. Where possible we alert the Newcomers group and the wider club. There are currently 70 members in our interest group and walks range from 4-20 members at a time. There is ALWAYS room for more!
