10:30 a.m. Visit to the Studio of Marie Henderson in the
Bindery Gallery & Studios, Downtown Lafayette. Marie works in mixed media, combining paint, ink, and paper. She often creates the papers used in her collages. Last year she had showings in Columbus, Indy, Noblesville, Broad Ripple, and at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette. Her collage there, "My Spring Tree" was purchased by Alexca Freed. She will bring to share this day. Alexca stated "Marie is a proud graduate of W. Lafayette High School and Purdue University. Even at first glance, Marie's artwork made me feel happy. The colors reminded me of a pleasant, sunny day. The huge tree is one you could sit under and relax. Any artist who uses mixed media intrigues me. Not being an artist, I can't imagine how one can visualize an object or scene and bring it all together to make something so pleasurable to the eye." Lunch will be at East End Grill. Kathy Stirlen, facilitator.
