Adventures in Dining started as Inquisitive Cuisine IV in December 2006. The group was formed to enjoy cooking, experience new recipes/cultures, make new friends and socialize over an exciting meal.
This group has had up to 12 participating couples. Today, the group welcomes singles as well as couples – with one family member belonging to PWC.
Menus themes can range from gourmet to ethnic to traditional to American or even a picnic – depending on the creativity of the host. Menu usually includes starters, soup, salad, entrée and 2 veggies, dessert and coffee/tea.
Each member hosts one or two meals during the year. The host plans the meal and provides recipes. Each member selects which one he/she would like to cook, prepares the dish at their home and brings it to the host’s home for serving.
Coffee, tea and water are provided and sometimes a specialty aperitif (provided by host) to go with the starters. Members bring their own libations or bottles of wine!
If only a small number of members are able to participate in any month the host may opt for meeting at a local restaurant. This also might occur if there are too many attendees for the host to seat at her home.
